“Understanding Branding”
“Is Your Business Having an Identity Crisis?”
“Branding” is typically defined as “the traditional advertising method used to create an acquired response from a target audience based on cumulative impressions and positive reinforcement” and “brand management” is “the application of marketing techniques to a specific product, product line, or brand.”
During simpler times in the 19th and early 20th centuries, a rancher would mark his cattle with a brand. This brand, which depicted an image unique to his ranch, distinguished his cattle from another's in the event of a broken fence.
~So how does any of this information apply to businesses today and help them make more money?~

“Whistleblower or Just Full of Hot Air?”
“Is the Public Informed About What REALLY Happens In Our Friendly Skies and On Our Runways?”
Whistleblowing means disclosing information that someone reasonably believes is evidence of a violation of any law, rule, or regulation, or gross mismanagement, a gross waste of funds, an abuse of authority, or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety.
The U.S. Merit System Protection Board (MSPB) is an independent, quasi-judicial agency that protects Federal merit systems and the rights of individuals within those systems. To qualify as a whistleblower under the Whistleblower Protection Act, a Federal employee or applicant for employment must meet some very stringent and specific criteria. A potential whistleblower’s failure to meet even one of these criteria will deprive the MSPB of jurisdiction, meaning that by law, MSPB will be unable to provide any redress in the absence of a different (non-whistleblowing) appeal right.

“The Real Gorilla Girl”

Did you know that the number of Eastern lowland gorillas living in the wild today have rapidly declined to below 5,000? “Does the Suffolk Legislature Have Legitimate Concerns About the Ethics of the Suffolk County Ethics Commission or are the Claims ‘Politics As Usual’?”
“Where is All This Going?”
According to a Newsday article, “a ‘crime wave’ is accelerating at the State Capitol and “criminal charges and ethical misconduct has tripled in recent years.” For example, Governor Spitzer stepped down because of his escapades with prostitutes; Governor Paterson paid a $62,125 fine for receiving World Series Tickets; NYS Senator Joseph Bruno was convicted on two counts of wire fraud; Former Nassau Legis. David Mejias, was accused of using his Cadillac to tailgate, repeatedly chase and cut off his ex-girlfriend's Land Rover as she drove with her boyfriend. And these are just a few of the many elected officials who have been charged with or convicted of crimes and/or ethics violations.
